Look, I'm late to the party regarding our next guest - but you might not be! Brenda Earle Stokes is radiant sun, equal parts passion and brilliance, physical feeling and mental clarity. Sheesh. There might be a minimum of objectivity here because you can possibly define fact when you've fallen on your face in gratitude :-O
Our Beauty From the North Country (Ontario) was dealt some cards early in life. Her Mom died when Brenda was eight - and that most assuredly colored her world, quite possibly in terms of how she perceived the music that she was already playing. Piano at four, clarinet came later. She heard Oscar Peterson at 15 and life changed. Another life-changing moment: hearing her own voice at The Banff Center for the Arts. There was a Jazz residency in the mountains and Brenda realized just what kind of instrument she had.
With that revelation came new confidence and opportunity. This is a woman who was trained classically (MUCH education involved here!), sang Pop, became comfortable as a solo singer/pianist, and directed music for Off-Broadway projects. Yes, she made that move to New York - that HAD to be the case with how much she had to offer. In finding her way, Brenda has worked with a myriad of stellar musicians - and has always relished her other role as educator. Many will speak of the careful mentorship she has shown to young students, as well as those who appreciate her kindness in a different way. This amazing talent has found the time to devote to the Ronald McDonald House for quite a while. When you know that someone's heart has been so open, their lyrics ring truer than ever - don't they? ;)
Please join us for a most welcome interview with Brenda Earle Stokes on 12/8. We start at one p.m. Eastern time - Brenda joins us at TWO!
Join host Teresa Maron for the Women's Wisdom Circle, a soul sanctuary that invites women to be who they are without needing to change or fix themselves or anyone else in the circle.
We gather for deep listening, creative reflection and authentic soul-sharing. We begin by exploring a wisdom quote and go where the Spirit leads. The Circle is a place to honor our flowering alongside our brokenness and our gathering feels new and ancient at the same time.
Today's Quote-The more severe the dysfunction you experienced growing up, the more difficult boundaries are for you. – David W. Earle
The Wisdom of the Circle is the Circle itself. Rev Brigid Waszczak, Facilitates the Circle.

In light of the US Men's Team disappointing crashout from the Gold Cup semi-finals and the buzz around the upcoming Barcleys Premier League season, we are re-broadcasting our famous Two Yanks v Brits Soccer show featuring Hall of Fame defender Paul Caligiuri and NBCSN BPL expert and pundit Robbie Earle live and in person from our show's Podcast Cubby at the Olde Ship British Pub and Restaurant. Paul describes his historic "shot heard round the world" and it's lasting effect on the US World Cup efforts and the seed for the 20 year old MLS. Paul and Robbie discuss the state of US Soccer as it relates to the need for the development of "Number 10" skills and players - symptoms clearly shown in the poor performance of the USMNT in the Gold Cup. We compare Paul's childhood football development in a soccer wasteland vs. Robbie Earle's development growing up in the country that created football. Robbie Earle shares transfer window needs assessments of the top BPL teams - how have these teams done compared to Robbies suggestions? These two pundits meeting one another for the first time and sharing takes, opinions and experiences from a pub setting is a riveting "can't miss" show that will get you ready for the new footy season now finally upon us!

Hi listeners and welcome to another edition of Weekdays with Murph. On the show today, we're pleased to be joined by somebody who's become a dear friend to both of us: the lovely and talented Miss Krista Earle. We'll talk with Krista about what she's been up to since her last visit to the show and if there is any new music coming down the road for her. As usual, I've got my lovely and talented co-host/sidekick Emily with me, so let's get going!
Nicholas Snow welcomes Producer/Director Danielle Earle (from LA Web Series Award Winning Series Brooklyn Is In Love) and cast members of her feature film Lover's Game starring Crawford Collins, Miranda McCauley, Paul Sheehan, Andrew Nielson and Tenience Johnson. Lover's Game is a love story of seduction, art, and the emotional battles that bend and break us.
After winning 3 Web Series Awards from the LA Web Series Festival in 2012 and being the center story of major media platforms, such as Social Media Monthly, Curve Magazine, Time Out, Village Voice, and News 12 New Jersey. Danielle Earle is finally made a name for herself as being considered "the female producer that never backs down, and never giving up." Earle says, "Pain is all apart of the journey, and that's why I love writing love stories so much. The beauty and self identity in what is painful, but at the same time, it's what makes us stronger, and more determined. As a Producer, I've delt with having to roll with the punches. I told myself, 'Quitting is easy, but hangng in there is the hardest part. It shows the power in your ability more than anything else."
One of the true pioneers of US Soccer, in 1989 Paul Caligiuri made "The shot heard round the world" against Trinidad and Tobago that put the United States in the World Cup for the first time in forty years. In pulling off this completely unexpected upset, Paul and his teamates insured the US hosting the 1994 World Cup which provided the momentum and financial impetus for future National Team success (U.S. has qualfied for all six World Cups since then) along with seed money for the first successful professional soccer league in the United States - MLS. If you are among the million plus US viewers each week that watch NBCSN's coverage of the Barcley's Premier League, you know well expert pundit and commentator Robbie Earle. Both football legends join us live from the Podcast Cubby at the Olde Ship British Pub and Restaurant. We talk how each grew to be professional and National Team level players, how soccer has grown in the US v England, BPL teams' summer transfer window needs,FIFA, and some of Paul's personal interfaces with names you hear related to the FIFA scandels. We talk fast paced footy with two worldwide experts - the contrasts and comparisons between a Brit and a Yank and thier interactions with our expert panel make this by far our best show yet!
