ENVISION THIS: Meat that fills your soul as much as your belly
Our guest, Ben Slayton lived abroad in Tuscany on an organic farm specializing in pastured pork. There he developed a passion for well-raised meat and craft butchery. After a couple of years raising his own animals here in Maine, Ben switched his focus to building a network of several small farms to support Farmers’ Gate in an effort to bring more locally raised meat to the Maine marketplace.
Farmers’ Gate Market bridges the gap between local, pasture-based livestock farms and the growing number of families who are looking for good locally-raised meat. They work with a network of Maine farms to provide their customers with grass fed beef, pastured pork and lamb, and free range poultry. They work only with farmers who produce pasture-based livestock, and they process all the meat in-house. As a result, they can ensure safe handling of all their products and retain complete knowledge about everything they sell – from farm to table.
Like their customers, Farmers’ Gate butchers are hungry for good homegrown food – meat raised locally on pasture by farm families who are thinking about the future. They also look for creative ways to build awareness about local, sustainably raised and craft-butchered meat. Therefore, they share the stories of their farm partners, preserve the skills of whole carcass butchery, and incorporate old world traditions with new technology.

According to the Financial Post, U.S. economic growth slowed sharply in the fourth quarter as weak business spending and a wider trade deficit offset the fastest pace of consumer spending since 2006.
The slowdown, which follows two back-to-back quarters of very strong growth, is likely to be short-lived given the enormous tailwind from lower gasoline prices. Most economists believe fundamentals in the United States are strong enough to cushion the blow on growth from weakening overseas economies.
Even with the moderation in the fourth quarter, growth remained above the 2.5% pace, which is considered to be the economy’s potential. Economists had expected the economy to expand at a 3% rate in the fourth quarter

The EFed Guerilla Radio (Podcast) comes to you in it's usual Friday night primetime slot, this week with a special edition dedicated to "Angle EFeds." Join El Gringo Loco (@efedguerillas) and @snowjorden plus any of the other EFG Hosts at 9pm EST / 8pm CST / 6pm PST for the show. The plans as of right now for the show include having guest call-ins from Joshua Piedra from Jolt Wrestling, Matt from GCW, Flex from HKW, GCW, PU, SSWA, and Mel from Worldwide Wrestling Force. As always we are looking for more people to call in, but please remember this show is to be centered around Angle Feds this week.
What is an Angle Fed? The EFed Guerilla Radio (Podcast) idea of an Angle Fed is one that does NOT require or use Roleplays to determine winners. Matches and on-show Segments are written primairly by the handlers themselves. Most of the time matches and angles are booked by the handlers themselves. The winners of matches are determined by the handlers themselves in order to further storylines. Roleplays in Angle EFeds do happen, but only as Character Development pieces, they do not count towards anything.
If your EFed falls in line with these parameters, please feel free to call in to talk about your own EFed or an EFed you're apart of. If you do not meet these guidelines but would still like to call-in just to ask questions or contribute to the conversation, please feel free to do so.
