TIRED OF BEING BLACK
Butterfly Evolution welcomes Author Rodney Jordan -
Never Judge A Book By Its Title…. "TIRED OF BEING BLACK" offers a fresh perspective on the struggles and stereotypes of the black race from a man who personified most of them growing up but then turned his life around to become a school teacher, a basketball coach and a positive role model to hundreds of students and athletes.
In his literary work, Jordan draws heavily from his experiences growing up in an urban area largely defined by drugs, violence, teen pregnancy, and welfare. Jordan disrespected and rebelled against all authority figures in his life which led to him being forced out of his mother's home at the age of twelve. Tired of being Black exposes negative stereotypes that Black Males like the young Rodney Jordan often perpetuate through their actions, reactions and lack of actions.

Being black in America is something that alot of us have to deal with. What does it mean to be black in America from a female's perspective. This episode will explore the highs, lows, the obstacles and victories that black women go through. You don't want to miss this episode.
With racial tensions on the rise and being an ever revolving subject, we want to discuss what it is like to be a Brown (Latino), Black (African - American) person being raised and living in America.
What is the reality of racial feelings in America? Do people of colors see things differently? Does slavery still play a part in everyday life? What is the difference in the new generation that is growing up?
What have our parents taught us about how to behave and how much of this is plain common sense or survivor slave mentality?
NOTE: this subject can be a controversial topic, all are welcome to participate and come with questions and thought. But all must participate in a respectful manner.
When will America allow Black women to love whomever they want? When will Black women feel safe to love whomever they want? When America view Black women as equally viable for marriage? When will America see Black women as women? Only in America are Black women seen as novelties and betrayers just because they choose to love beyond color barriers. America, it's time to let's just talk!

Are you willing to stand up and be seen and be heard? Is there a point at which you speak out, where silence is no longer an option? How many different ways do you have of not speaking up? “Oh, I didn’t know.” “I didn’t see it happen.” “I had no idea.” “It never would have occurred to me.” “I don’t know.”
In the face of bullying and meanness and unkindness, what would it take to step beyond the comfort zone of wishing it would all go away? What about being aware, and, saying: “Enough! This doesn’t work for me.” “This isn’t true for me.” “That was not my experience.” Do you have the courage?
Finding your voice ... what is that? What is it like? What would it take to be seen and be heard?
Join us as we talk about this and so much more.

What do our children have to be proud of as black children in America? We can fool ourselves and try and make believe we love being black but most black people in America, if they were honest with themselves, do NOT like being black in America.
Why would we like being black? What are the benefits, if any, of being black in America? Yeah! I know, some people say..."I love being black to make themselves feel better, but in reality, if they could change themselves to a different ethnic group...they would.
