It is no secret that neonicotinoids are the cause for the global decline of honeybees as well as many other species. Scientists around the world have been publishing research supporting the initial ground-breaking research conducted by Dutch toxicologist, Dr. Henk Tennekes that supports his initial findings. Since then Dr. Tennekes's has published research which proves the dose time ratio links neonicotinoids to bee deaths.
Tune in as host June Stoyer and special guest co-host Tom Theobald, talk to Dr Henk Tennekes to discuss his research, titled, “The molecular basis of simple relationships between exposure concentration and toxic effects with time.”

The 2013 Texas legislative session is right around the corner, and Austin lobbyists are shifting into high gear. Unfortunately, too many Texans mistakenly believe that the Capitol is open only to insiders, and that their role in public policy ended when they cast their ballot.
In fact, every Texan has a right—and a responsibility—to participate in the public policy discussions that go on at the Capitol. Your stories and your perspectives are vital ingredients in the legislative process. Is there a law that needs to be changed? Only you can tell your representative how that law impacts you and your community. Do you have an idea to make conditions better for people you know? If you don’t speak up, your idea won’t be considered.
The best part is, engaging in the legislative process does not need to be scary, time-consuming, or expensive. On this week’s show, Texas Impact’s Bee Moorhead will share her “Five Principals of Citizen Lobbying.” You’ll gain the confidence you need to speak up and speak out, as well as learning some tips and tricks to make following the Legislature easy and fun.
Bee Moorhead is the executive director of Texas Impact and the Texas Interfaith Center for Public Policy. She leads faith communities throughout Texas in becoming effective advocates for social justice. She has a long background in Texas government and is a well-respected voice at the Capitol. Bee is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and serves as an adjunct faculty member at St. Edward’s University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. She has also worked professionally as a seamstress and a house painter.
I also have a special guest sponsor of the show on this day. You won't want to miss it!
