Beaten Path: Student Loans | Suffering For What Purpose

    in Current Events

Tonight at 8pm ET on Ernest Radio Network, it's Beaten Path.

Your hosts Jane Hoffman & Jon Yoder talk about a few subjects tonight.  First up, transferring student loans from private lenders to the department of education: is it a good idea?  Jon has an idea that university fees will just get the average American more in debt.  Is that a scam, or just paying your debt to society?  (You've already paid for college, why pile on the debt?)

Also, what's the difference between suffering to do what's right, opposed to suffering for doing stupid things, or the wrong things?  Some say good can come of both.

All this plus NPR news, music, and more.  Don't miss it.

Beaten Path: This Generation's Passion - Where Did It Go?

    in History

Tonight at 8pm ET on Ernest Radio Network, it's Beaten Path.

In this episode, Jane and Jon will be addressing this American generation to what are their passions.  Besides the the movement for LGBT to fight for their equality, the only mantra in recent years to stand up and fight for something has been the Occupy Wall Street movement.  It seems more like this generation has to do with in fighting and what they oppose.

They will also be discussing the 1964 UC Berkeley free speech campus movement.

All this plus NPR News, music, and much more.

Beaten Path: What Does It Profit A Man...

    in Current Events

Tonight at 8pm ET on Ernest Radio Network, it's Beaten Path.

Your hosts Jane Hoffman, and Jon Yoder will discuss the faluty idea of losing one's Christian salvation.  Of course we know that's not true, based on Ephesians 4:30.  Yet where does a person stand with God when they backslide?  Some of us would backslide on a daily basis, so are we always on the outs with God?  If so, doesn't that negate the whole idea of grace, which is the foresight of God to know we'll never measure up, and to cut us some slack because of it?

All this plus NPR news, music by Michael W. Smith, and much more.
