Moving to Venice, Abigail continues to uncover more about the history of her trade while making friends, and a lover, whose lives become inextricably linked with her own. Author Nancy L. Jarvis joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Books

Nancy Lynn Jarvis was a Santa Cruz, California, Realtor for twenty-five years but was having so much fun writing that she let her license lapse in May of 2013.

After earning a BA in behavioral science from San Jose State University, she worked in the advertising department of the San Jose Mercury News. A move to Santa Cruz meant a new job as a librarian and later a stint as the business manager of Shakespeare/Santa Cruz. Nancy's work history reflects her philosophy: people should try something radically different every few years. Writing is her newest adventure.

She put Regan, Tom , and Dave from the Regan McHenry Real Estate Mysteries Series on hiatus to write Mags and the AARP Gang, a comedy/adventure about a group of octogenarian would-be bank robbers, but she missed her characters, so they're back to solve another murder in recently released "The Murder House."

    Bringing Back God-In the beginning

    in Christianity

Pastor John Collins with Bringing Back God, Tells us why we have to give GOD our best everyday. How your life can change the second you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. Being the best person you can be starts with YOU. God makes promises to us all, all we have to do is his will and not ours, He gives us the blueprint of life all we have to do is give him our best everyday, Remember second best is not good enough with God he requires our best at all times, He made the ultimate sacrifice in giving us his son Jesus Christ who died for our sins, So we need to make sure God gets our best everyday, And always love thy neighbour and help them.

Children's Book Author, John Himmelman joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Books

John Himmelman is an author/illustrator of nearly 80 books for children and books (for grown up kids) on various nature topics. He graduated School of Visual Arts in 1981, with his first book "Talester the Lizard" published later that year. Talester came about as a final assignment to create a story in his children's book illustration class. Himmelman's children's book genres range from whimsical to natural history. He is a naturalist, involved in many organizations where he gives lectures and leads trips in search of exciting flora and fauna (it all excites him). Award-Winning Author, Jenni Wiltz Joins Kori on the Back Porch

    in Books

Jenni Wiltz writes fiction and creative nonfiction. She's won national writing awards for romantic suspense and creative nonfiction, and her short fiction has been published in literary journals including Gargoyle and The Portland Review. When she's not writing, she enjoys running and doing genealogical research. She lives in Pilot Hill, California. Find her online at JenniWiltz.com.

The family dynamics are also particularly well-drawn. This is not a faux family that is either too perfect or too ridiculous. The communication between Emma and her family members is believable and genuine. These relationships are what drew me into the story. The quirks and dysfunction are true to life, in a way that I found extremely endearing–and also frustrating. I *cared* about the outcome. I wanted to scream at characters, to shake them: I was invested.

Despite the heavy subject matter (revenge, violence, culture clashes), The Red Road was a quick and satisfyingly intense read. – Sara Strand, Amazon review

Johnny Walker, author of EKKO Mysteries, joins Kori on The Back Porch

    in Books

"Sound designers often find themselves alone in old clubs and theaters, usually late at night. Most people aren't aware of this, but these charming venues have lonely corridors and forgotten rooms throughout the building. Each is as dark and full of secrets as any ancient dungeon.  Working behind the scenes, it was my job to crawl through them. Better yet, it was a thrill to explore them.

But I’m not out to convince readers about the supernatural, or even impress them with my knowledge of spirits and ghosts. EKKO Mysteries was written for those who enjoy pushing the adventure envelope, one after the other. My intention isn’t to get creepy, but to have fun. Every character in the series—living or not—has a personality, objective, and sense of humor matching his or her historical time frame. Does a ghost always have to be a roguish demon? Me thinks not.

The spirits in EKKO don’t do a lot of searching and pondering: they come to life and get in your face. Good, bad, or indifferent. Our leading man, CJ, couldn't be happier about that."

    Learn more about Johnny Walker.
