Charles D. Martin has experienced tremendous success in the business/financial world and has made an impact on many levels. He has now turned his attention to becoming an author.
His second book, Nadia's Obssession was a follow-up to his pilot book Provacateur. Charles made the amazing transition from being the Founder of 2 mega-successful investment firms to becoming an award winning author.
Charles was on to speak what has motivated him all these years to keep going, to keep getting back up and fighting, and ultimately now to become a successful author.
We spoke about the road to success, not just the by-product and Charles had a lot to say about that.
Martin grew up in a small town in Ohio. His parents were poor, but he was able to put himself through college by working two jobs. Martin later had a highly successful career in venture capital and private equity. He founded a pair of investment firms that he managed for two decades.
He runs a thriving hedge fund, Mont Pelerin Capital LLC, and serves on investment committees for prominent universities. His wealth of knowledge about people, finance and technology translates well in his novels.
Martin’s first book, “Provocateur” (August 2012, Chaney-Hall Publishing), invited readers into the intriguing world of Nadia Borodina, a Russian orphan who comes to America, is thrust into the high life of powerful men and transforms into a crafty femme fatale. “Nadia’s Obsession” (August 2013) continues her story with bold twists and turns.
Alexandra Sokoloff is the Thriller Award-winning and Bram Stoker, Anthony, and Black Quill Award-nominated author of the supernatural thrillers THE HARROWING, THE PRICE, THE UNSEEN, BOOK OF SHADOWS, THE SHIFTERS, and THE SPACE BETWEEN, and the Amazon bestselling new FBI thriller series HUNTRESS MOON. The New York Times Book Review called her a "daughter of Mary Shelley", and her books "Some of the most original and freshly unnerving work in the genre."
As a screenwriter she has sold original horror and thriller scripts and adapted novels for numerous Hollywood studios. She has also written two non-fiction workbooks: SCREENWRITING TRICKS FOR AUTHORS and WRITING LOVE, based on her internationally acclaimed workshops and blog (ScreenwritingTricks.com), and has served on the Board of Directors of the WGA, west and the Board of the Mystery Writers of America.
Join author Ted Dunagan and I as we discuss his book signing at The Book Tavern in Downtown Augusta, GA on Friday July 19th from 2:00-4:00 PM. The Book Tavern is located at: 936 Broad St. in the old J.B. White building.
Author Ted Dunagan has won numerous awards in the Young Adult category. He has multi-book series detailing the friendship of Ted and Poudlam, two young boys living life in the late 40's deep south. That is not unusual in itself, but when you factor in that Ted is white and Poudlam is black, that's when the extra friction comes in. It's not friction from the two boys, but rather from the rest of society. These two young boys encounter all sorts of adventures and show survival skills that even Mcguyver would be proud of!!! I will get to ask Mr. Dunagan several questions about his book series and why it has been so beneficial for young kids. We will also put his writings into the context of the world that we live in today. To learn more about Ted and his books, tune in to our interview on Blogtalk radio, or visit his website: http://teddunagan.com/
Ted's books published by NewSouth books:
A Yellow Watermelon
Secret of the Satiifa
Trouble on the Tombigbee
Ted is currently working on releasing two other books.
