Parenting books can give great ideas on how to raise and discipline and teach your children well ... or they can leave you feeling guilty and wrong and ticked off at having wasted time and money.Join About.com parenting experts Terri Mauro (Parenting Special Needs), Kathy Ceceri (Homeschooling), Catherine Holecko (Family Fitness), and Katherine Lee (School-Aged Children) as we discuss some of our favorite parenting books and the ones that missed the mark. We read so you don't have to.
Being a parent is an honor and should not be taken lightly by a man or a woman in a relationship or a husband or wife. There is no greater joy in my life than being a parent; we do not have to be perfect parents -just give all your possible love and understanding to your child and set a good example. Please, talk with your child and support who they are and not try to make them a carbon copy of you-unless they want to be; most importantly read daily with them the bible and teach them to love G-O-D first and foremost. Please, do set guidelines and what not to do. Do not spoil them-let them earn some things that they want and they will grow, develop self esteem and benefit. Early on do charitable work with them and teach them very important values in life. Please, all guests call in August 7,Thursday, 2014 at 4:00 PM-4:15 PM Eastern Standard Time with your questions of parenting do or do nots. Also Spiritual Poetry about parenting if time allows.
Thanking-you, Barbara Iris Alsieux, the Founder and the Owner! #Parenting

It's a topic we cover occasionally, partially because the issue of secular parenting is such a relevant issue, and partially because the subject is often as complex and unique as the families navigating through it.
How does a godless parent approach the teaching of a child as opposed to the indoctrination of a child? What are some successful methods for raising a genuine freethinker? What are some of the potential problems?
In this episode, we share your perspectives and stories, and we also speak with Dan Arel, blogger, journalist and author of the new book, "Parenting Without God." (http://www.parentingwithoutgod.com)
