Over the past 7 days we have seen the opening of the NBA season, another week of NFL and the MLB season come to an end. After losing their first game, the Hawks have now won 3 in a row. What do you think? The Falcons lost at home. What do you think? The Kansas City Royals have been to back to back World Series and won it the second time. What do you think? We'll be discussing players, coaches and teams as a whole. Call in, Listen in.
The Atlanta Hawks have an issue with starting slow. Is it coaching? Is it the players? Both? Why isn't THJ playing at all? How many more games will the Hawks get beat because of lack of rebounding in key situations? Wild card teams behind the Falcons lost yesterday, but will Atlanta take advantage by beating the Colts? Coach Richt flew all the way to Oregon to prove a point, what was it? Is he doing too much? What happens if they lose to GS?????? These and other topics will be discussed tonight!! Tune in, Call in, Listen in!!!!!!! If you have a favorite team, feel free to call and talk about them.
KL Chouinard (@KLChouinard) joins Nate Duncan (@NateDuncanNBA) to preview the Atlanta Hawks. Topics include: What improvements stalwarts Al Horford, Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap, and Jeff Teague can make to their games, how new additions Tiago Splitter and Tim Hardaway fit in, how the Hawks will adjust to the loss of DeMarre Carroll, and season predictions.
Tonight we will talk about the week that was. The Atlanta Hawks are proving that 60 wins last year was not a fluke and that they are a force that continues to be ignored and they are still getting better. The Atlanta Falcons are making us worry that Matt might not be the guy anymore (mostly because of play calling, and for some reason Roddy White no longer exists), but mostly because we are losing to bad teams. UGA won, will they win out though??? These and other topics will be points of discussion. Call in!!! Listen in!!!
Yes, it was the first game of a long season. Yes, starters were rested on the last game of the pre-season. But should that be an excuse for a lackluster performance? We had a fully healthy team on the floor. Four All-Stars on the floor. Coach Bud still on the bench. So what happened? And, does it mean anything for the rest of the season? Why was THJ on the bench? Should Edy get Muscala's playing time? Is Charles Barkely right? These are questions that many are asking. On the other hand, Hawks lost game one last year, and won 60 games.
At least the Cavs lost. Tune in, Listen in, Call in.
The Atlanta Hawks have had its best season ever so far, poised to win 60 games and make a deep playoff run. But people insist on using the past playoff history to totally write the team off. Is that fair or is in just the facts? One era was Nique`s, couldn't get past Jordan, Bird, Pistons. The other era is more recent, a younger Al, different coaches, and despite having talented, still exited in either the first or second round for 7 years straight. What makes this year different? Call in and talk about
I'm joined by Bo Churney, HawksHoops.com's NBA aficionado, to discuss how the Hawks can keep the good times rolling. We talk where Paul Millsap and Al Horford rank among frontcourts, how Dennis Schroeder can make a jump, can Korver keep it going, and where the Hawks stack up to the rest of the East's elite.
If anybody has seen that Dave Chappelle/Wayne Brady skit, you know what I'm talking about......Last night was the most horrid, blatant, misuse of power I have ever seen in a NBA Playoff game. If you are or are not an Atlanta Hawks fan, you know what the deal is now. If you didn't know before, you know it now. Yes, Hawks could have pulled a few more rebounds, yes Teague should have drove and tried to get some free throws, yes Mike Scott was wide open while Mack was given the ball again. On and on. The ejection of Al Horford gave Cleveland the game. There are several points to discuss on tonights show, my co-host Sandra Maddox and I will review many of them, feel free to join in! Tell your friends to call and speak their mind. And yes, the Hawks can win 4 in a row.
Over the past 3 years the Atlanta Hawks have undergone a major transformation. Money and production didn't translate with Joe Johnson and Marvin Williams, so they were removed from team. Josh Smith was not traded, his contract ran out and he signed with another team, which also couldn't trade him and they waived him, in which he signed with another team that right now are borderline wanting to cut him. Drafting of players has improved tremendously. In 2013 the Hawks hired a new coach, a pupil of Popovich in San Antonio. Despite losing their top player and many others for a total of 180 games to injuries, Hawks made the playoffs for the 7th straight year and almost beat the then number one seed Indiana Pacers. So far this year, the Hawks are leaders in the Eastern Conference and Southeast Division. They have the best winning percentage against teams over .500 in the NBA. They have one of the best offenses and defenses in the NBA. They have one of the best home and road records in the NBA. Yet, people still do not want to count them as a "legitimate" team, despite beating (handling) other so called legit teams. Why is this?
That will be main topic tonight, feel free to chime in.
Join me tonight for a special episode of The Dirty Word as we discuss the Eastern Conference Finals series between the Hawks and Cavs.
After a very controversial ejection of Al Horford, the Hawks are on the brink of elimination Tuesday night as the Cavs lead the series3-0. Despite being down in the series, many Hawks fans AND national pundits believe that dirty play and tactics have contributed to the Cavs success in this series.
We will talk about the Horford/Dellavadova incident and take a deep dive into the "gutsy" play of the Aussie point guard.
Is he crossing the line and when will Atlanta seek true retribution against he and the Cavs.
I will also give a step by step process on how the Hawks can defy all odds and win this series, even overcoming shady officiating.
Stay tuned tonight at 11:30 and keep it locked! Calls are welcome!
