As part of our series on The Rifleman being prepared, we discuss issues of personal safety tonight.
When folks talk about personal safety in relation to self reliance, prepping and security, they think about buying guns and ammunition, or how they would guard their homes and supplies, or set up perimeter watches and guard duties.
But you do not need any kind of natural or man made disaster to put you in peril. People's everyday lives are already dangerous enough and we are under threat of criminal activities and other personal safety concerns we might face without any kind of disaster situation required to facilitate it. Every day we run the gauntlet of robbery, burglary, assault, car theft and car jacking, murder and a myriad of of other personal safety issues. You need to make sure you are doing all you can on an everyday basis to insure your personal safety and the safety of your loved ones.
This is really not that hard to do if you will take a look at your life to assess your risks and decide what practices you can put in place in your every day life to increase your odds of day to day survival.
From small simple things like locking your doors the minute you enter your home, car, hotel room or office, to filtering the water you drink at home or on the road through simple home/portable filtration devices to remove heavy metals like lead and mercury and other toxins such as arsenic and other toxins to limiting or eliminating dangerous behaviors, you can start stacking the odds for survival in your favor immediately.

Leon was born on May 23 in Kokomo, Indiana, and grew up on several different farms in the general area. Moving frequently led Leon to develop a fantasy life at an early age, and when he wasn't on a tractor or a horse, he was reading, writing short plays and recording them on audio-cassette, and watching TV comedy of the late 1970s.
It was then Leon realized acting was his destiny. He began what he calls "Musical-Comedy High School," acting in high-school and community-theatre productions throughout Indiana, such as Guys & Dolls, Arsenic & Old Lace, Brigadoon, Wait Until Dark and Li'l Abner. He also wrote, directed and acted in, along with a childhood friend, a series of short films called Wonder Twins, which he shot with his mother's home movie camera.
Following graduation, Leon attended Indiana University, where he studied theatre, English literature and journalism. Leon landed his first paying show-biz gig during this time--an amateur-night appearance at The Club Showbar in Indianapolis led to a six-month nightclub act. A couple years shy of legal drinking age, Leon hid out in the dressing room between sets. Leon is the creator and star of the hit web-series, Old Dogs New Tricks. Join us as we discuss his plans for season 3 and the indiegogo campaign to help fund it.
This week on The Road To Midian we interview actor/director Al Harland. Born and raised in the Northeast coastal town of South Shields, England Al grew up watching Universal Horror and Hammer Horror Classics. He emmigrated to the US in 2002 to start a new life. Having been an avid fan of the band Blondie since an early age and having become good friends with the band in 1998 he travels back to England this summer to follow the band on their European tour. In the last several years he has caught the acting bug and has been lucky enough to be cast in many productions for various community theaters. Most notably being Mortimer Brewster in 'Arsenic And Old Lace' and Count Dracula in 'The Passion Of Dracula' and has even found time to perform in a few Quattro Venti Scott Productions short films. Mr. Harland has also shot his first short film, all while endeavoring to write, produce and direct his first full length feature film, a World War II Nazi Zombie extravaganze 'UBERZOMBIEFRAU'. Come and join us with our cohost/cohort Edward X. Young as we interview Mr. Harland and see just what he's all about. This is the Red Flag Nation where no subject is taboo and censorship has no dominion.
