Boxing has officially returned to primetime network television. Premier Boxing Champions’ action packed main event did not disappoint as Keith “One Time” Thurman (25-0 21, KOs) won a clear unanimous decision over Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (32-3-1, 18 KOs) in a great fight that lived up to expectations.
There was no feeling-out period in this fight, as Keith Thurman sprung out of his corner with an attack that had Guerrero on his heals. Thurman continued to push the action and land crisp combinations that seemed to have Guerrero flustered in the beginning of the bout. Although “The Ghost” was able to land some nice counter punches; Thurman was landing the heavier blows with more consistency.
In the third round, right when it seemed like frustration was settling in for Guerrero, an accidental headbutt caused a massive hematoma up near Thurman’s hairline above his left eye. Guerrero seemed bolstered by the damage to Thurman and put together his best two minutes of the fight up until this point.
As the fight went on, it was becoming apparent that while Guerrero’s chin was certainly up to the task, Thurman’s punches were doing more damage. Guerrero would land some great counter shots, but they never seemed to deter Thurman’s pursuit.
Angel Thurman was born a child of the 80‘s in rural Meigs County TN. Angel grew up in a musical environment. Her parents, both being accomplished musicians, she really had no choice but to gravitate to an instrument. By age five, Angel was playing around with the guitar and making noise on any instrument she could find around the house. She began to get serious about her music around the ripe old age of 13! After playing many school functions and community events, she widened her scope and started to play to a wider and wider audience. Angel’s heart lays with the classic country sounds of days gone by. She was influenced by many country artists from Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline to Miranda Lambert and Pistol Annies. She believes in music that has heart. No cookie cutter fake glam mass produced stuff that is churned out by the Nashville Music Machine nowadays. Angel’s music has been heard all over the southeast at live events and has been featured on Country radio. Her original music is heartfelt and full of down to earth observations and can be funny at times and in an instant can turn to a heartbreaking ballad that rivals any of the country classics you remember on the radio of your childhood. When asked what sets her apart in the local music scene, she answered “I’m different, but a good different! No one else is really doing the kind of stuff that I’m doing. I just play the music that speaks to my heart, and for that I make no apologies!" Http://www.facebook.com/Angelthurmanmusic

After four years of broadcasting and 200+ episodes, The Angels Monday Show is NOW: Angelic Realms Radio!
We're on the brink of a flurry of boxing activity after some down time. The sport seems to get slow every winter, so it's not surprising, but boxing could be in for some new, exciting things in the coming months. For starters, this weekend marks the beginning of perhaps the biggest recent change: Al Haymon's sudden onslaught of network and sub-network television dates in the sport of boxing. But there are other important things too! For instance, this week on TQBR Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Queensberry Rules' Patrick Connor welcome to the show Compubox operator and historian Aris Pina. That alone is news-worthy! But past Keith Thurman vs Robert Guerrero headlining boxing on NBC, courtesy of Haymon, Amnat Ruenroeng defends his flyweight belt against Chinese star Zou Shiming on HBO2. Expect plenty of boxing history tangents, and check the TQBR Radio Facebook page for details on how to win stuff by just listening to the show! Thanks for tuning in!
