Did you know that Whoopi Goldberg had a learning disorder as a child? Were you aware that Harriet Tubman had epilepsy? These are only two of the many examples of Blacks who became successful despite their disabilities. Some people tend to discourage others with disabilities from achieving their dreams because "it's for their own good"; they want to overprotect them or they just don't understand how a person can accomplish anything despite his/her "limitations." Once you hear these different celebrities' stories, you'll never view people with disabilities the same way again. You will be inspired and encouraged to uplift someone else and even accomplish your own goals!

America, the Beautiful. This land of opportunity is full, bursting with animals, plants and things. The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. This land that we love is bursting with goods and services. The people of this land, face challenges and many of the challenges should not be. In America on any given day there are adults who are too ill to care for self properly, mentally and physically. There are working poor, people who are homelss, starving, jobless, disabled and elderly who need and with daily wants and needs but are without any one to call upon. America, this Sunday morning I want to be on record as saying, We all can and we all must do more for one another. We have more than enough goods, services, and abled bodied people with skills to not live as we do in this nation, we coined the land of opportunity. There's enough blame to go around America, so let's start with "to whom much is given, much is required" and "go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise".
I have a child with a developmental disability.. where will they live without me?
Rachael has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for approximately 7 years. Most recently, she was an Assistant Manager for The Center for Disability Services for a group home with 7 adults. Rachael is currently a full time MSW student at SUNY Albany.
When a family has a child with a developmental disability, their future is often uncertain. Individuals with developmental disabilities are often somewhat, if not completely, dependent on their caretakers. Group homes are often an option for families to consider as their child continues to grow and parents become older and less able to care for their child.
Have you seen the Don Cheadle and Henry Louis Gates program on ancestry? Did you see how Don Cheadle responded when he found out that his ancestors were owned by "Native Americans?" It was an incredible display of emotion and disappointment. If one didn't know better, one could almost believe that this was a ploy designed to get Afrikan people focused on hating someone other than the white police officers who are murdering our people in the streets, the smallhats who're enslaving our men in the prison industrial complex, the rednecks that are terrorizing our people throughout the labor industry, the white-sex offenders who're adopting and molesting our children, etc . . .
Is there a genuine Racial conflict between Black people and Native Americans or is this just one more smallhat-concocted scheme to misalign our hatred and make us hate one another? Tune into this program and find out if Hickleburg Hat is up to his old Willie Lynch tricks again.

It's Tax season and many of us are preparing to file for 2014. One of the biggest questions many people will have will be, "What are the tax implications of the Affordable Care Act?"
The IRS’s synopsis of “Affordable Care Act Tax Provisions” runs nearly 6,000 words and contains numerous links to various regulations, notices and technical releases. Unfortunately, the Internal Revenue Service taxpayer hot line may not be much help with getting your questions answered in a timely manner.
What can you do? You can contact the "TaxChick" Anissa Barbee.
With over 10 years of experience in tax preparation, Anissa Barbee is the CEO of Transformation Tax and Financial Services. Anissa’s commitment to serving individuals, small business, and non-profit organizations stems from an understanding of the general sentiment of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
After working for franchises and CPA firms, Anissa felt that a profit margin, not the welfare of the taxpayer, was the top priority of some of the corporations. It is with these thoughts that Anissa decided to launch Transformation Tax in 2010. A primary goal of her business is to make sure customers will leave her office with a better understanding of their tax returns.
Join me Nakikia MSkeepitmoving Walton on The Keep It Moving Blog Talk Radio Show with special guest Anissa Barbee of Transformation Tax and Financial Services as she explains the tax implications the Affordable Care Act may have on your return. You don't want to miss this episode. Be Informed. Stay Out of Jail!
