Today on this special segment of FOXOLOGY TODAY, I will chat with Chicago-based custom hangbag designer Alexa Holzwarth of LexiWynn Designs about her unique creations and business opportunities. She's an entrepreneur with a vision who knows where she's going, and believe me, she's got it in the bag! I hope you'll tune in!
About today's Guest
LexiWynn founder Alexa Holzwarth, learned to sew and appreciate fabrics at a very early age, growing up around her parents' successful custom window treatment business in Virgina. With a keen eye for detail and a flair for creativity, Alexa started her business in 2005 by making custom window treatments, pillows, and slipcovers out of her home in Libertyville, Illinois. In April of 2006, she designed her first purse – the aptly named Lexi Hobo – quickly realizing that she could successfully create fun and functional bags using fabrics that she loved.
As her purses gained popularity, Alexa developed a business and a small team of talented workers that would allow her to stay home with her small children but also serve as an outlet for her creativity, knack for design, and empowering others to get involved in the creative process.
She says "We are living the classic American story, the LexiWynn brand is all about vision and hardwork and bootstrapping and learning as you go."

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. As defined under U.S. federal law, victims of human trafficking include children involved in the sex trade, adults age 18 or over who are coerced or deceived into commercial sex acts, and anyone forced into different forms of "labor or services," such as domestic workers held in a home, or farm-workers forced to labor against their will. The factors that each of these situations have in common are elements of force, fraud, or coercion that are used to control people. Then, that control is tied to inducing someone into commercial sex acts, or labor or services.
Numerous people in the field have summed up the concept of human trafficking as "compelled service." Every year, human traffickers generate billions of dollars in profits by victimizing millions of people around the world, and here in the United States. Human trafficking is considered to be one of the fastest growing criminal industries in the world.
