Step 11 of the 12 steps process for addiction recovery

    in Health

Step 11 of the 12 steps for addiction recovery:

"Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out."

Many believe that a complete spiritual transformation is required to end drug and alcohol addiction, Step 11 is a very critical and often over looked element of this transformation. Improving our relationship with our higher power can deliver us from addiction and give us the joyous and free life that we all are seeking.

WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF A DRUG and ALCOHOL "ADDICT"?

    in Self Help

SHOW TOPIC: What is the definition of a Drug and Alcohol Addict? We discuss how the definition and or the interpretation thereof impacts whether or not a person seeks treatment, or is advised to seek treatment by family and friends. We will also discuss the treatment community dogma of "Once an Addict, Always an Addict". Is this true? Is there a time when this is no longer applicable?

Recovery Radio Fresno, the reason for the season edition.

    in Motivation

The NNIA network presents Recovery Radio Fresno.

On tonight's show, Pastor Rafael Herrera will be talking about a new exciting new school he is teaching.  This school will involve the teachings of the bible.  I would also like to invite you to call us at 1-602-753-1699 and ask us questions, or share your thoughts.  In addition, I look forward to talking about the real reason for the season. Pastor Rafael said "It is a school of ministry that offers a 12-month ministry program for those who feel called into the ministry. There is a phase 1 that goes into systematic theology and a phase 2 that goes into more advanced courses such as Bibliology & Hermeneutics, which is the study of biblical interpretation and Homiletics, which is the preparation and delivery of a sermon or teaching, and of course other things involved. My school is called The Word Walk School of Ministry, and it will be starting the latter part of January 2015."

Each and every show is recorded to the links, so you tune back in at anytime.  Even share it with a friend. Merry Christ-Mass (Christmas).

Recovery Radio Radio Fresno with Louis Angel and Charles Borstad

    in Motivation

The NNIA network presents Recovery Radio Fresno with Louis Angel and guest Charles Borstad. Recovery Radio Fresno broadcast live every Saturday at 9pm Pacific.  We would like for you to call in and ask questions at 1-602-753-1699.  If you happen to miss any of the shows.  Click the link at anytime to tune back in, it will be recorded. Charles said "I was raised by my grandparents, until about the eighth grade. Then we moved to San Jose and my mom was involved with an alcoholic. I hated him at first, and he was abusive to us. I told myself that I would not ever be like that, but I was wrong. In my journey through life I came to love the man I hated. Nevertheless, I became involved with alcohol, drugs, and with whatever came through the doors. I tried to get away by joining the army. My cousin and I joined up on a buddy system, but I was arrested the day before we were going to leave. He left, I stayed and I went and got involved in the gang/party lifestyle. I didn't really know where my life was taking me. I felt like I was just living. I became involved intwo different relationships and while having children with both of them. The Spirit of the Lord intervened in the midst of my confusions and by calling his name, he came.  My life was touched by the Spirit of God and it has never been the same."
