    in Nutrition

Life Changing Insights with Dr. Alan Simberg and his guest Dr. Robert Brown:

Native Californian born in Oakland. Majored in Physiology at UC Berkeley going on to UC San Francisco Medical Center to receive a DDS. Began practice in Walnut Creek, CA in 1964 practicing Orthodontia. Northern California Rotarian of the year in 1975. President of Danville Rotary 1978-79. Continued my studies in physiology and medicine beginning the practice of treatment of TMD dysfunction in 1975. Began treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in 2002.

Due to a serious accident I had to retire from Orhtodontics and go full time into
TMJ and Sleep apnea. My advanced studies into alternative medicine led me into a rather unique, holistic, approach to TMJ treatment not treating symptoms with drugs but finding the cause and working with the patient to correct that.

    Gaius Publius Interviews Alan Grayson

    in Politics Progressive

Gaius Publius Interviews Alan Grayson: How To Be Effective In a Republican Congress

Alan Grayson is a three-term Democratic congressman from Florida, having just been re-elected in 2012. Grayson is easily the most effective Democrat in Congress, progressive or otherwise, having passed 33 pieces of legislation in the previous House session alone.

In this pre-recorded conversation with Gaius Publius, he reveals how he "cracked the nut" that allows him to get progressive legislation passed. Part of his secret — his goal is to be a person who "gets things done for the progressive movement," not a person who introduces bills and "then does nothing" with them. In the last two weeks of the last Congress alone, for example, he passed 15 progressive amendments.

Grayson discusses what he learned in his one term away from Congress (he lost re-election in 2010); how he deals with Democratic leaders when those leaders want the wrong thing; what he thinks of the current global climate situation; and touches on issues like TPP and prosecution of elected and appointed officials for torture.
