    Fireside Creations : Glamping

    in Food

Hip Hip Hooray!!! Flavor Living Radio celebrates our one year anniversary.

Welcome to, part three of our Fireside Creations camping series.  If you missed parts one and two just click on the Flavor Living radio title and there you will find those shows as well as the description about the shows details.

    Today’s show Flavor Living visits:

    New Zealand – Wagon Stay
    Moab Utah -
    Illinois – Timber Ridge

We want to say "Thank You" to those who have listened in and services who have broadcasted our show...

For those of you who are new to the trend of glamping, the word glamping is a shortcut word for glamorous camping and it is for those who want to experience the joys of camping minus the setting up camp or for those of you just looking forward to a different kind of camping experience.  We all deserve a treat now and then.

    As quoted from: Glamping.com

When you’re glamping, there’s no tent to pitch, no sleeping bag to unroll, no fire to build. Whether in a tent, yurt, airstream, hut, villa or treehouse, glamping is a way to experience the great outdoors without sacrificing luxury.

Glamping pivots on a high level of service that focuses on the complete comfort of the guests. The amenities found at glamping destinations far exceed anything recreational camper’s experience.

Thank You To Our Copywriter Shirley

Diabetes Late Nite Inspired by Miranda Lambert

    in Health

The happy healthcare host, Mr. Divabetic wants to help empower you to manage your diabetes with confidence, knowledge and inspiration from Miranda Lambert.

Miranda Lambert is one of the biggest names in the industry, but she knows she isn’t perfect. The multi-time Female Vocalist of the Year winner says not winning ‘Nashville Star’ in 2003 was the best thing that could have happened. It gave her time to mature as an artist, and to write and record songs that she believed in.

One of Miranda’s favorite lyrics on her fifth studio album titled “Platinum” is ‘imagine a fighter with a centerfold face.” Miranda says, “that’s how I picture all of my friends. They’re strong — and gorgeous. They make me proud.”

Miranda Lambert and her album, Platinum are inspiring us to talk about the high cost of living with diabetes. "When you're in the industry and you hear 'platinum' you think platinum album, says Miranda. “But platinum is a lot of things: it's hair, it's diamonds and platinum, it's Bud Light Platinum, it's the color of an Airstream.”

Diabetes Late Nite guests include Patricia Addie-Gentle RN, CDE, Dr. Beverly S. Adler PhD, CDE, Neva White DNP, CRNP, CDE, Poet Lorraine Brooks, Author Kim Boykin, the founder of thebetes.org, Marina Tsaplina and Mama Rose Marie.

We’re playing selected songs from Miranda Lambert’s new album, “Platinum” courtesy of SONY MUSIC.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #328 - Rob Ulloa & Stacie Rippy

    in Film

Please forgive the possibly rough audio mix this week … Your friends in podcasting recorded from their post-production office and they were hard at work all night and day completing day 19 of principal photography on The Lady Killers, the feature film Dean Haglund is executive producing and Phil Leirness is directing (from his own original screenplay).

On today’s show, Dean and Phil welcome two special guests, Art Director Rob Ulloa and his art deparment colleague, actress Stacie Rippy!

Join them for a rather hilarious conversation about what the art department does, about Disneyland, about acting, about Airstream trailers, about getting fired … It’s free-wheeling, occasionally insightful and always irreverent.

You know, it’s YOUR Chillpak Hollywood Hour!

Book Reads featuring Author Tom Schabarum

    in Books

Airstreaming is set in Kansas City, the epicenter of be-bop jazz, train travel and commerce in mid-century Midwest. The story begins in the early 1970’s, and uses the declining 18th and Vine Jazz District, Union Station and West Bottoms stockyards, as its backdrop, as well as the outlying town of Olathe, Kansas.   Airstreaming refers to the icon of American travel, the Airstream trailer, which conjures up dreams of escape for many people. The trailer becomes a catalyst for three women whose extraordinary circumstances bind them together - Clare, a newly single working mother,  Linda, her daughter and Martha, a housewife.   Jack, a strong and complicated man, whose love for his wife Martha, links the three women, holds on to hope after tragedy strikes by buying an Airstream trailer.  His belief that it will change everything blinds him to the reality of his situation. Only Linda ultimately sees the truth, and must confront the other three as each of their worlds change   Ultimately, everyone must choose what to leave behind in this uniquely American story.   Mr. Schabarum’s first novel, The Palisades, was a 2011 Lambda Literary Award Finalist. His collection, The Narrows, Miles Deep, was a 2011 Best Book selected by Felice Picano at Lambda Literary Foundation. His poetry was recipient of the 2010 Creek-walker Poetry Prize, and has been published in Poet Lore, Flights, pifmagazine, and other literary journals. He holds an MFA in creative writing and literature from Bennington College. He lives in Seattle, WA. For more info: www.tomschabarum.comAirstreaming is
