This is Beyond the Airwaves: The Infinity Project, where we go beyond the mainstream media and tackle issues that don't seem so important to the major networks.
The Legend of Korra was supposed to be the successful spin-off of the popular animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. For the first two seasons, it had done well. This season, however, went completely downhill, and the low ratings has caused Nickelodeon to pull the final four episodes. What went wrong with this season to cause the sudden cancellation? We'll discuss what happened in the series' sudden downward spiral.

Take some time this week to remember your original happy hour: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at dawn, jumping on the couch with a bowl of chocolate cereal, turning on the ‘toons, tuning out the outside world, and working your way into a sugar hangover before noon. This week we celebrate the return of TNT and Steven Spielberg's hit show Falling Skies, this Sunday night June 22. Mark E walks us through what we may have missed and what we can expect with WonderCon round table interviews from many of the show's stars, including Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth), Sarah Carter (Final Destination 2, Smallville), Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation, Eight Below), Seychelle Gabriel (The Last Airbender, The Spirit), and an exclusive interview with Connor Jessup. Heads up, Chicken Little. - Hosted by Grim Shea and Marke. @StayClassySDCC MattyPradio.com
Every fictional story is built in a world that the author creates, though the reader will only see just a small portion. It is woven like a web. This can be a fun part of the creation process and yet contains one of the hardest lessons that the author has to learn. What makes a good story world? How do you, the world creator, create a believable plausible world? How is the world that you built change by the story you wrote? Is your world a character or just a setting? How does your world building cling to your passions? Do you play in your world before you write your story?
When does world building fail? What makes it bad? Why did it fail? What happens when it is not grounded in the real world? Can your world “jump the shark” and cause the story you are writing to fall down? Can you confuse the world by trying to give too much? What happens when you break your own cannon? Does the world throw the audience out of the story?
