Clarification; Same Sex Marriage versus Civil Unions, Article Amendment 1 - Freedom of Expression and Religion - Article XIV Amendment 14 - Rights Guaranteed
Special Guest Dr Charles Tolbert, Founder of Citizens for a Better America
This article is being written to explain the rights of citizens in United States of America as written in the U.S. Constitution and the enforcement of Article 1 (Amendment 1) and Article XIV (Amendment 14). It is important that the reader completely understands both articles prior to reading the reasons Ministers and Religion object to the term (SAME SEX MARRIAGES). There are several scriptures which also should be read in order for the reader to conclude when article one has precedence over article 14.
The Equal Protection Clause is part of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The clause, which took effect in 1868, provides that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction “the equal protection of the laws”.
A primary motivation for this clause was to validate and perpetuate the equality provisions contained in the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which guaranteed that all people would have rights equal to those of white citizens. As a whole, the Fourteenth Amendment marked a large shift in American constitutionalism, by applying substantially more constitutional restrictions against the states than had applied before the Civil War.
Article XIV (Amendment 14 – Rights Guaranteed: Privileges and Immunities of Citizenship, Due Process, and Equal Protection)

Win a rosary Blessed by Pope Francis:
From Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi, gay couples traveled to this quaint Panhandle city on Tuesday, eager to take part in a historic moment: the arrival of same-sex marriage in the Deep South."We came because it felt like home," said Virginia Jeffries, 30, of Foley, Ala. "And because if we waited for Alabama, we'd be waiting forever."
"I have to confess, when I was first approached about coming here, I thought no way," said the Rev. Dr. Jim Merritt, who moved to Pensacola several months ago to become the senior pastor of Holy Cross Metropolitan Community Church. He married his partner of 20 years on Tuesday in one of many same-sex weddings performed at the church.
A Tuesday regular at the diner, Earl Barrett, 72, and his two breakfast companions voted in favor of Florida's gay marriage ban in 2008. Look up the definition of marriage in Webster's Dictionary, they instructed, citing a core text for gay marriage opponents. (The dictionary amended the definition several years ago to include same-sex couples.)
"I'm a Roman Catholic," Barrett said. "For me, I can see how, civilly, they have the right to the benefits of marriage. But religiously, I can't support it."Tampabay.com

Two African American Authors, Dr. Jamal Rasheed and Dr. Obari Cartman, discuss the evolving attitudes toward marriage and family among Black men. In our first hour, Dr. Jamal Shahid discusses his books Broader Perspectives in Educating All of Us, Positive Solutions To Improve Our Lives, and It's Mandatory to Identify and Kick Slave Habits. Dr. Cartman joins us in our second hour to discuss his book, Lady's Man: Conversations For Young Black Men About Relationships and Manhood.

Dr. Jamal Shahid, author of Broader Perspectives in Effectively Educating All Of Us, and Dr. Obari Cartman, author Lady's Man: Conversations For Young Men About Relationships and Manhood, discuss the evolving attitudes of Black males regarding marriage and family. Are men even being socialized to prepare themselves for marriage when they reach adulthood?
