Are you ready to hunker down, or are you still partying like it's 1929?

    in Current Events

We'll double down on our critique of government incompetence this week. Mostly because government has doubled down on providing examples to critique.

The CDC's Ebola follies would be funny if they weren't putting the nation at such grave risk.

And now there's word Obama wants to send Natioal Guard troops to Africa's Ebola hot-zones.

Or is he just being sneaky about getting the Guard prepped for hot-zones at home?

Obama skipped a fundraiser and a political pep rally this week to "focus on Ebola."

Cancelled a fundraiser. Should it scare you - or be taken as a cause for celebration?

Stock market's continuing with crash and surge volitility.

Mid-term elections are coming up fast.

Fourth quarter 2014 seems packed with booby traps like a few other fourth quarters in history.

Are you ready to hunker down, or are you still partying like it's 1929?

Chatroom comments and phone calls welcome. Join the conversation.

Karl Victor Davis and Connecticut 'Harty' Taylor were both born in Mount Vernon, Kentucky in 1905. In 1929, Doc Hopkins enlisted Davis and Taylor for the Krazy Kats, a string band that featured folk songs and pop tunes in their repertoire. Following a year with WHAS in Louisville, Davis and Taylor moved to WLS in Chicago where they became part of the Cumberland Ridge Runners on the 'National Barn Dance' radio show. Davis and Taylor were originally known as the Renfro Valley Boys and they recorded under that name for Paramount in 1932. It was because of their radio work that they became known as Karl & Harty. In 1934 the team began recording for the American Record Corporation labels. I'm just here To Get My Baby out Of Jail was their first hit. Later hits were The Prisoner's Dream and Davis's song Kentucky which was covered by The Everly Brothers and The Osborne Brothers and others

    Tough Talk Christian Radio

    in Christianity

Tough Talk with Tony Gambone with his guest Larry Stockstill & Sandra Lee Hartsell:

Larry Stockstill - As a missionary in Africa for two years and a senior pastor for twenty-eight years, Larry Stockstill’s ministry has been global and local. His ministry now involves winning men to Christ (Model Man), planting local churches (Surge) and strengthening character in leaders (Remnant). With six children all in ministry, he and his wife Melanie minister together worldwide strengthening the marriages and families of today’s Christian leaders.

Sandra Lee Hartsell - I love to write prose. My first book has been called, "A Crime of Passion" and others have called it, "Illustrations of Inspiration". I love word illustrations. People that have read my writing relate their lives to it. I have wrote down everyday experiences. The title is called, "A Call to the Christians." I have 3 more prose books out. One is titled, "A Call to the Christians 2", "Latch Key Kids", and "Emotional Hearts." The last three books that I have done are children's books. They are "Adam Petty's Heartbeat". This book is based on the Victory Junction Camp in Asheboro, NC. Adam Petty had a passion for children. You can see the passion he had for children, as you read through this book that is about the camp. "Let's Go Feed the Animals" is based on the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, NC. Children love the photos that are in the book. "Once A Year" is about a yearly traditional that the Moravian church at Old Salem has continued since 1929.
