When Azim faced a parent’s worst nightmare, the murder of his only son, he refused to succumb to bitterness and revenge that would have further destroyed the quality of his life. Instead, he reached out to the shooter and his family because he was sure that there were “victims on both ends of that gun.” He created a foundation in his son’s name, the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) which is dedicated to “Breaking the Cycle of Youth Violence by Empowering Kids, Saving Lives, and Teaching Peace”.
