Antithetical Forms of Peace with Todd Tomasella and Travis Bryan III

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27

What is the difference in the peace that the world gives versus the peace given us through Christ?

The WORLD brings and enforces peace by killing, military strength and victory, threat of assault, fear through intimidation, superior killing machines, brilliant strategies, police forces, wealth, hating your enemies, eye for eye, fighting fire with fire, and human effort.

Christ and his people bring peace through the cross, by dying (dying to self), surrender, compassion, sacrifice, faithing it through weakness and vulnerability, rest, absorbing the blows of evil instead of retaliating, loving enemies, turning the other cheek and fighting evil with good!

These two forms of peace are the antithesis of each other.

One believes it is necessary to be the wolf among sheep.  The other is not afraid to be the sheep among wolves through faith in God.

The gospel turned the world's way to peace upside down.
