"But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.' 1 Timothy 3:15

"For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting (lacking), and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:" Titus 1:5

"And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed." Acts 14:23

"And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem." Acts 16:4

Jesus cleansed the temple (picture of His house) with the goal of establishing His order out of man's chaos (Matthew 21; John 2).

1 John 2 - John addresses "little children," "little children," "fathers." The younger are to submit to elder (1 Timothy 5:1; 1 Peter 5:1-6).

In the household, and in the church there is a divinely ordained order set forth in Scripture.
