PACE Youth Programs Inc. was founded in 2000 from a desire to help youth released from juvenile detention facilities effectively reintegrate into society. Mr. Steven Holloway, Founder and Director, is committed to providing a network of support to delinquent youth. The first PACE class began on January 3, 2001 with 7 youth and 10 volunteers. In 2002, the Texas Youth Commission took note of the program's success, and a partnership between PACE and TYC was formed. Since the program's inception in 2001, 592 juveniles have enrolled. In 2004, a new partnership was developed with Harris County Juvenile Probation. PACE was presented The Unsung Heroes for Houston Children Award by Children At Risk in 2007, named the Outstanding Group of the Year from Texas Youth Commission in 2004, received the Governor's Award in 2003, and received the Education Award from the Houston/Harris County Ecumenical Council in 2002. From its Board of Directors to its coaches, volunteers and sponsors, PACE has a compassionate and dedicated team willing to do whatever it takes to help change children's lives for the better. www.paceyouth.org
