On this episode of Roughing the Kicker, Joshua Brisco breaks down the shocking release of Jeremy Maclin and tries to figure out what's next for the Kansas City Chiefs. Plus, Seth Keysor joins the show to give his perspective on the Maclin move and to discuss the Chiefs' sloppy salary cap management. Also, Ron Parker had the week's most insightful comment about OTAs.

The 2017 Chiefs are simply, undeniably worse without Jeremy Maclin. Even the greatest optimists have to admit that you would rather have Jeremy Maclin on the field than Demarcus Robinson, Jehu Chesson, Albert Wilson, De'Anthony Thomas or whoever else sneaks on to the roster. Even if you contend that Maclin was being overpaid, the Chiefs offense has not been nearly good enough to have the luxury of releasing one of their top playmakers and eating their mistake.

This is a rare smudge on the John Dorsey/Andy Reid résumé, and it's a big one.
