WHY DOESN'T SHE JUST LEAVE? If you've ever been through family court as a mother, you know the judge will help your violent ex punish you by taking EVERYTHING. The law says "report child abuse" but when you do, YOU lose custody. YOU are the one treated like the criminal. The judge rewards the abuser with your innocent babies to beat up and rape and kill at his leisure. These are the facts of life.

But what if you didn't have children to worry about? What if it was JUST YOU? Could you do it then? Would anyone support you?

Tonight's show is about how everything in our culture seems to stand in the way of a woman trying to start over, from folks at church who wonder why the fuck you can't just get your life together, you whore, to new people you're afraid will think you're too needy. I'll be talking about a recent experience of my own as a single woman with no family and no friends. You are welcome to call in and tell your stories, too.
