Submissive Wives Vs. Strong Women

What does it mean to be a "submissive wife?" In today's world it almost means she is a doormat or a slave. But, is this what it means in the Bible? How has this term been perverted over the years? Believe it or not, it is possible to be both strong and submissive. For some reason, the image equated with this term is a woman who is barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. Then there is the other extreme that is women who, "don't need a man."
