The NFL released a statement today regarding the fate of James Harrison, Clay Matthews, and Julius Peppers:

The NFL found no credible evidence that Pittsburgh's James Harrison and Green Bay's Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers were provided with or used substances prohibited under the NFL-NFL Players Association Policy on Performance-Enhancing Substances following a comprehensive investigation into allegations made in a documentary by Al Jazeera America.

Peyton Manning was also mentioned in this documentary but was cleared by the NFL, in July. No information was provided about former Green Bay Packer Mike Neal, who is a free agent.

Although the injury to Teddy Bridgewater occured in practice, the chatter around the NFL is that the league is looking at a number of options to reduce the number of games, in the preseason. Jason La Canfora published and article on CBSsports.com discussing some future options. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/the-nfl-preseason-is-not-going-away-anytime-soon-but-changes-are-on-the-way/
