Thursday night pre-season NFL football recap

NFL preseason used to be exciting for the first quarter when the starters would play a few series to get into the flow of the game. Now superstars are at a premium, so a majority of the starters don't even lace up the cleats. The Green Bay Packers didn't play Aaron Rodgers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers didn't play Ben Roethlisberger or Antonio Brown. Teams are cautious with the impact players, but that doesn't mean there are not some intriguing battles going on. Although many starters are penciled in, when you get to the bottom of the roster, one play in a preseason game could make or break a players' chance of making the final cut.
