Matt Kenseth was leading the Daytona 500 and was one lap away from taking the checkered flag. After a caution flag, Kenseth lead the formation and Denny Hamlin was waiting for the right time to make a move. When Hamlin made his move, Kenseth moved up to try and block Hamlin. However, Hamlin dipped down to get side by side with Martin Truex, Jr. Hamlin and Truex raced to the finish with Hamlin taking the victory. The margin of victory was .01 seconds which was the closest in Daytona 500 history. Kenseth faded back in the pack to finish 14th.
Major League Baseball is gearing up for the 2016 season as full clubs are now reporting to their warm weather destinations. Spring training games start in the beginning of March.
