The Green Bay Packers enter the NFL playoffs in unfamiliar territory. For the first time in five years, the Packers are a wildcard team. They travel to Washington to play the Redskins. They clinched the NFC East by winning their last four games. Preseason expectations were different for both teams. The Packers were a Super Bowl favorite by many media outlets, while the Redskins were the team that was going to be in the middle pack in a poor NFC East. An injury to Tony Romo in Dallas, Chip Kelly losing his team, and the Giants losing fourth quarter leads allowed the Redskins to quietly sneak up and win hte division.

17 weeks later, the Packers are sputtering on offense, and the Redskins are feeling confident. This could be the game the Packers have waited for on offense. The Redskins are ranked 28th in the NFL, and are banged up in the secondary. The Packers will need to control the clock and finsih drive with points if they want to stay alive in the NFC playoffs.

The Packers defense has allowed the team to stay in games when the offense was not scoring. The key in this game will be to shut down the Redskins running game to take away the play action pass. Secondly, they must apply pressure to Kirk Cousins. Field position is always a big factor, in playoff football, and if the defense can create turnovers the Packers should advance to the next round.
