Casual Dating Vs. Serious Relationship

When you go out on a "date" with the same person on a few occasions, does your mind begin to wonder, "is this leading somewhere?  Is it getting serious?  Should I ask?"   To some people a date is simply a date with no ultimate goal. To others, the goal is to find someone to spend the rest of their life with.   If you are a person who is looking for a lasting relationship, should you date for the sake of dating?  Or do you wait to find the person who also is looking for a lasting relationship?  There are the questions that minds ponder over.
