First year head coach of the Kennesaw State Owls, Lewis Preston, recently chatted with the Real Sports Guys about the Owls recent season, foundations to move forward, and the incoming recruiting class. Coach also helped us breakdown the upcoming Final Four action. Prior to his current post at Kennesaw State, Preston was an assistant at Penn State, Coastal Carolina, Notre Dame, and was on the coaching staff at Florida when the Gators won their 2007 National Championship. Coach Preston worked with 2007 first-round NBA draft picks Joakim Noah, Al Horford and Corey Brewer and second-round selection Taurean Green while at Florida, all four earning All-American honors while under Preston's tutelage. At Notre Dame he had the opportunity to work with two first-round draft picks in back-to-back seasons in Troy Murphy (2001) and Ryan Humphrey (2002) as well as current NBA players Matt Carroll and Chris Quinn. Currently, Preston coaches All-Atlantic Sun player Markeith Cummings, Freshman sensation Delbert Love, and conference rebounding champ Aaron Anderson.
