In 2015, Carla Victoria was accepted as an author on the Peace In The Storm Publishing team. In addition to being a teacher and author, she has served on a Connecticut chapter of the NAACP Education Committee which works to bridge the education gaps in the community through extra-curricular learning opportunities for youth. In December 2015, she welcomed twin baby girls into her family. She resides in Connecticut with her husband and three daughters.
