Text: Prov. 23
Intro: My interruptation of the subject. When you sit to eat with a ruler consider dilligently what is set before you. if you are a man given to appitite put a knife to your throat. Solomon is dealing with our appitite,self-control,and watch your motives.
He admonish the reader to not be desirous of those danties. Solomon raises awareness concerning riches and false securities. Be deserning of what is set before you when you sit down with a ruler (verse 1). All riches aren't to be put into a catagory of destruction; many times people find themselves overtaken by false security. The problem is that some cast their eyes upon the riches and the flesh gets out of control (prov.23:5). Being overly preoccupied with becoming wealthy will pierce your soul through with a hot iron; your motive will sometimes become tanted when focusing on one motive. Provb., verse 4 says, "wealth will come by what you earn throug your learning."
