Stay in The Boat!

Today's Text: Matt. 8:23, Phillip. 3::1-20
I'll start from Philippians 3:1-12 keeping your eyes on the prize! Our focus, identifying our personal objective which is: "Total surrender" Paul in this text desired to be apprehended by Jesus Christ in the same way that his prison had apprehended him. Paul, on his second Missionary Journey, was in prison when he declared the true meaning behind the phrase "keeping his eyes on the prize" The prize here is: total surrender. If you read further Paul defends his argument by saying, "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, "forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. Verse 14, I press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus. Verse, 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded and if in any thing you be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you." He wanted the believer to strive after being totally surrendered and apprehended by Christ Jesus. Notice in verses 16 thru 20; he demonstrates by directing your attention to his conduct as compared to that of other believers when saying, in verse 17, "be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as you have an example in us. Verse 18, for many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: verse 19, whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things. Paul has just revealed the mind of the Flesh operating in these people; they cared only about themselves and where not totally surrendered, or apprehended by Christ Jesus, nor cared to be. Verse 20, “for our conversation is in heaven......"
