Special guest and psychologist Dr. Jimmy Middlebrook will discuss the trials of being alone even in the midst of people. The show will cover topics of communication, fear, honesty and how to win in the battle against loneliness. Dr. Jimmy L Middlebrook received his BA degree in Psychology in 1981 from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS and his MS (1984) and Ph.D. (1986) from the University of Georgia. He completed his clinical internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center. He was licensed as a Psychologist in Georgia in 1987 and maintained a psychology private practice for over 15 years specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional, behavioral and learning problems of children and adults with an emphasis in Learning Disabilities, Depression and Anxiety Disorders. He joined Walden University in July of 2008 as the Program Director for the newly created BS Psychology Program. Dr. Middlebrook has taught numerous psychology courses over the past 20 years at the undergraduate and graduate level at several universities and has served as the Faculty Lead in Psychology and University Success courses, as the Learning Center Director and as the Chair of Student Success. He has also taught graduate level business courses focusing on Leadership Development. He has delivered over 200 presentations to public and professional audiences and has published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
