The Solstice Celebration

I, personally, hold two days as sacred, the winter, and summer solstices. They are my two, 'religious,' holidays. This year it seems right to invite others to clebrate with me. There is an old saying, 'It's always darkest before the dawn.' Yet, each day the sun rises again, and those who had hoped to die in their sleep, awaken, and take another breath while facing another day of uncertainty, and pain. I can't promise you a brighter tomorrow but I use to the solstice night to ask that those in their own darkness are comforted... somehow. My prayers are personal, except on this one night of the year when I sit by the deep, still, pool of reflection and think, not of myself, but of others. This is simply an invitation to join together as the one, we all are.
