Priscilla's Purse Ministries is a multifaceted ministry that supports Women of Faith and Women in Ministry, especially those in the generally called Five-fold Ministry (Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, and Pastors-Teachers). It is designed to accomplish its mission by providing servant leadership modeling/mentoring for women in Ordained/Licensed and Lay Ministry (all other Christian ministry helps in the Body of Christ) through three primary focus areas: 1. Edification (including building up, helping to establish and enlighten women of God); 2. Education (including formal training and instructing in areas of their calling, as well as developing women's ministerial leadership potential); and 3. Exhortation (including inciting and encouraging women of God to wholeheartedly pursue their divine calling and spiritual assignments). Named after "Priscilla (Prisca)" in the Books of Acts, Romans, I Corinthians and II Timothy, Priscilla's Purse Ministries was birthed in December 2006 by Rev. Gwendolyn G. Moffitt and her companion, Minister Lewis D. Moffitt, Jr., founders. The ministries are designed to spiritually extract and/or enhance the spiritual wealth, valuables, resources and wherewithal of equipped Women in Ministry, for example, those who are called to be one of the four, generally called Five-fold Ministry, "gifts" to the Church according to Ephesians 4:11. These ministry gifts are envisioned in comparison to the valuables generally contained in a woman's "purse", and given that Priscilla and Aquila "expounded...the way of God more perfectly" (Acts 18:26), the servant leaders of Priscilla's Purse Ministries seek to serve Women of God by assisting in leadership enhancement and maturity activities. Additionally, the ministries are committed to embracing a complementary and inclusive Kingdom-building relationship between ministers of both genders, as unity is mandated by the Head of the Body of Christ.
