On Thursday October 27, 2011 the Division I Board of Directors approved a package of sweeping reforms that gives conferences the option of adding more money to scholarship offers, schools the opportunity to award scholarships for multiple years, imposes tougher academic standards on recruits and changes the summer basketball recruiting model.

So what does this mean for our young men and women?  What are the pro's and con's of a multiple year scholarship?  What are your thoughts on the summer basketball recruiting schedule?  Is this a true reform or is this a quick fix situation?  Is this a ploy to draw the attention away from the conversation of providing student-athletes with additional funding?  In the end will our children benefit from these changes?
