Listen in as Adam Burke, founder of Veterans Farm, shares about horticulture therapy and how it is changing the lives of our disabled combat veterans.

Adam is a combat veteran and Purple Heart recipient who was wounded during a tour in Iraq. He well understands why our nation’s veterans are too proud to ask for help, but he also realizes that simply giving veterans a hand out is not a sufficient and sustainable way to help these men and women get their lives back on track.

The Veterans Farm is building handicap accessible farms for our disabled combat veterans to provide a “Prescription without Medication.”  Veterans participate in a 14 week fellowship program which teaches them to grow organic fruits and vegetables. Upon completion of the program, veterans are provided with resources to go out and start their own farms or work for larger farming organizations.
