This episode of "Tapping the Pipeline" will highlight the challenges the Tech Industry face with respect to hiring diverse talent? Or are there challenges at all? Where do the top companies go to find skilled and diverse talent? Where do they "not" look? Are there hidden pipelines out there just waiting to be tapped? Join me, Dr. Dawn Mooney Digrius and my Guest, Dakota Ortiz, Program Lead-Annenberg Tech, Annenberg Foundation as we discuss some of the challenges that we face in the Los Angeles Region in the Technology sector and how partnerships between industry, nonprofits, foundations and academic can contribute to the workforce pipeline, but also provide opportunities for under-represented students majoring in STEM.

Dakota Ortiz, Program Lead-Annenberg Tech, at the Annenberg Foundation, seeks industry-wide participation from the technology sector to engage in philanthropic activity focused on building equity, civic impact, and highways of collaboration across Los Angeles. As stated on their website, "Born from the premise that visionary communications can improve public well-being, the Annenberg Foundation has created AnnenbergTech to explore how the intersection of technology and philanthropy can benefit our city." We welcome Dakota to the show and look forward to hearing more about how Annenberg Tech is working toward positive solutions in our region and how STEM Advantage provides opportunities for under-represented communities through STEM engagement and employment.
