Genesis 2:1 and Joshua 5:13-15 The Lord's Hosts and the Lord of Hosts

Of all of God's creation man is the least responsive to God's commands.  However, when man responds to God's word he is the most potent, productive and creative of all the creatures on the earth.  Everything God made is His Host and He Himself is the Lord of Hosts with everything at His disposal to defend His people and to destroy His enemies.  God has a personal army made up of a small portion of humanity called the Church of Christ. Is it responding to God's command to carry out the Great Commission or is it missing in action?
