Join Ronald A. Edwards and Don Allen as they examine two very different contracts with the Minnesota Sports Facility Authority and Summit Academy OIC.

Summit has successfully demonstrated capacity in providing a skilled labor force on multiple large-scale projects: the Target Field Twins Stadium and the TCF Bank Gopher Stadium. For both projects, we worked with Mortenson Construction to fulfill labor needs. Our goal was to provide a trained minority labor force for the project so that the projects would be able to meet the minority participation goals. We placed 9 Summit graduates earning $18.63 per hour on the TCF project and 28 Summit Graduates on the Twins Stadium earning $21.63 per hour. In both cases, the general contractor exceeded minority hiring goals, and, in the case of TCF Bank Stadium, exceeded them by 10%. Currently, we work with Ryan Construction to provide qualified minority and female workers for the Target North project.
