He has had grants and awards from the International Poetry Forum, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Council on the Arts, the Author's League of America, the Carnegie Fund for Authors, the Katherine Tremaine Sunshine Fund, PEN Center-New York, and The Portland Review, among others.
