Lorraine Elzia is an Award-Winning Author, Editor and Literary Artist. With short stories in eight anthologies, two completed novelsand a third to be released in 2012, several co-authored/ghost written books, and owner of aVeeda Literary Services, Lorraine is consistently proving herself to be a breath of fresh air in the literary field.

Her debut novel, Mistress Memoirs allowed her to be the recipient of the 2009 AALA for Break Out Author of the year; and her sophomore novel, Ask Nicely and I Might is the 2011 AALA winner for Mystery of the year. She has adopted the motto of "Why Blend in when you are born to stand out" and is always striving to absorb and digest all that life has to offer, while finding new ways to connect with the world through good story telling.

Lorraine has espoused the name Deeva, and often writes under that pseudonym. Her writing credits include: contributing author in Chicken Soup for the Single Parent's Soul; Chicken Soup for the African American Woman's Soul; the Katrina Anthology; Surfacing…Phenomenal Women on Passion, Politics & Purpose; two editions of Gumbo for the Soul Anthology; The Triumph of My Soul Anthology and The Heat of the Night Anthology.

Lorraine is CEO and President of aVeeda Literary Services; contributing Editor for the "Gumbo for the Soul" series; and Co-Moderator of Essentially Women, a writing group for African American women. She is from Austin, Texas, by way of Motown (Detroit, Michigan) and it is her desire that through the written word delivered in different genres, she will be able to inspire and motivate others to see the beauty that resides within all people.
