James North is a former U.S. Navy intelligence officer, consultant to the U.S. Government, political analyst, and university lecturer. He is the author of Deep Deception and The Last Chameleon. He currently lives in Europe.
As he grew up, and later when he became a frequent traveler, he increasingly found himself waiting around in airports, which gave him time to read lots of books. Most of these books were thrillers, but he also read some historical and literary fiction. After reading scores of thrillers, he came to realize that while these books could boast well-crafted prose and interesting plots, a good many of them failed to sustain the mystery and suspense they promised, offering instead a predictable ending quite early in the story. Disappointed by this and the general lack of twists and switch-backs, he decided to put pen to paper, or rather fingers to keyboard, and his writing began.
His stories are purely works of fiction, mostly of the international political thriller variety. It is his hope that sharing them with you will generate the kind of nail-biting suspense and action he longed to read.
