Season 1: Episode 17; The Legacy of Carver

Jabari Byrd is from Richmond, Virginia, and is a graduate student at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. In 2016, Byrd received his B.S. degree in biochemistry and minored in chemistry. He currently works as a research assistant in crop, soil, and environmental sciences, where he focuses on Industrial Hemp Feasibility in the state of Virginia. Jabari served as member of VT SWAGG (Students working to achieve goals and graduation) and sports medicine trainer for various VT sports teams. Byrd is the former President of the Student African American Brotherhood and MANRRS. In one of his research highlights, he participated in undergraduate potato plant research with Dr. Richard Veilleux at Virginia Tech. Byrd is also a George Washington Carver Scholar!
