Up to 80% of children with autism have active bowel symptoms, gut inflammation, or even malnutrition. When you address the nutrition problems of these kids, the symptoms of their disorder lessen and, in some cases, disappear. And yet, the medical establishment is just now beginning to acknowledge the link between nutrition problems and learning and behavior disorders. Pediatric nutritionist Judy Converse, MPH, RD, LD, has been at the forefront of this field and she joins Family Radio to offer tips for parents with autistic children.
