North Florida Writer Live: I-75 Relief Task Force Update: Meeting #4

Friday afternoon at 3 pm North Florida Writer Live will present an overview of the happenings at the I-75 Task Force meeting on April 6th at the Villages, a meeting generated by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) at the request of Governor Scott and his Secretary of Transportation.  Yours truly was one of the group of private citizens from the six county study area who spent the day observing and listening to the Task Force discussion of interstate roadway needs before offering public comments on the matter. There are a number of issues which are troubling in the overall process and this session was by far the most active session since the process started last December. For the first time since the sessions started, a number of the state-appointed panel members had serious questions and reservations about the process as it unfolded.  The panel even put into the mix for consideration the option of no new roadway at all, just modification of existing roads. We will talk about this matter, offer comments on a few of the key moments during the day and take a few calls if time allows and we hope that local area listeners will pass the information on to others in the way of possible road changes.
