A SPECIAL PRESENTATION ON SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN

While we know that  Christmas is devoted to the birth and beginning of the life of the Christ Child, we don't spend much time thinking about the role that Mary and her husband, Joseph, played in the story.  We know that they were chosen by God to be Jesus' earthly parents and tonight we will focus on the special trials they were confronted with from the very beginning.  While ultimately the young child became a special man, actually a Man and God in one, what were the difficulties that this couple faced, particularly while awaiting His birth?

We can draw comparisons of their relationship with those today's young couples which might hold the answer to why good choices are so important in keeping a couple together during some trying times early in marriage. And what's more, the good choices are a result of using free will as God desires and not as we might selfishly choose otherwise.

We'll talk about how Joseph felt when he learned that Mary was expecting and he knew he wasn't the father.  And we'll also discuss Mary's feelings of shame when others saw her in the community where she was known.  Then, we’ll experience the trials and tribulations of travel to Bethlehem on rough and dangerous road and in inclement weather when Mary was near the time of delivery.  Arriving exhausted they were to find that there was no lodging available.

We hope you'll join us Friday night at 9:30 for a timely message, a little scripture, prayer and some good music.  And remember, the show will be available after recording on demand 24/7.  Come on, get in the real Spirit of Christmas by focusing on this beautiful story which lies at the heart of our Christian faith. You can do your shopping and partying later.  God bless.
